There isnt much left here, just the crumbling remains of some old cabins and a delapitated cemetary. There are some mines close by in the mountains that we explored as well and a large working mill just down the road.
The oldest ruins can be found in the hills, mostly made of stone, these date to the late 1800's.
A small group of us camped out here just recently and had a great time. Our roommate Ray made us a great dinner and then amused Cat and Jami by building a HUGE and raging fire! Pepper and I had a blast too, we ran around till the wee hours of the morning chasing critters! DOG HEAVEN!
Candelaria is just on the other side of the mountains behind Columbus but we didnt want to attempt the jeep road over! Maybe another time!
