THE RED ROCK MINE




Cat and I visited the Red Rock mine recently with Brad and Mike from the Outlaw Hummers off road club. This site was great! There were about 10 standing structures and lots of scattered ruins. This was a mercury mine that was first opened back in the 30's and was only just shut down in the early 70's. We went searching but couldnt find a mine tunnel to explore.
While Brad, Mike and Cat explored the site I went digging for critters!
















We found three old ovens here at the Red Rock mine. Two were connected and located next to the mill. The other is tucked up a small canyon nearby and is in FANTASTIC condition!






We found this old livestock barn near the canyon where the Red rock mine is located.



We also had a great time off roading nearby!
